The Chef Role: Managing a Quadratic Funding Round

A chef manages a pot (QF round) but doesn't own the kitchen. Have a Telegram group "ROUNDNAME / POTLOCK" (contact POTLOCK community to set up).

Responsibilities

• Approve/reject applications; if rejecting after approval, give a reason (on-chain).
• Initiate payouts after round; allow cooldown before finalizing.
• Resolve challenges before payouts.
• Communicate with projects and donors.
• Attract funding into the pot.

Fees and compensation

Chef earns fees from donations and sponsors; set by owner, with a cap. Fees align incentives. Rounds often ~6 weeks (2w application, 2w matching, 1w payout+cooldown, 1w retro). Owner deploys and sets fees; chef focuses on applications and execution. Flag bad actors; work with Nada.bot/support if thresholds change.
